The radio in my car has not been working for a month now and I cannot afford to get the aerial fixed. I took my kitchen radio with me in the car for a few days when I first started my new job and had to travel a distance, but the batteries just didn't last long enough.
So yesterday I hunted out an ipod connector that my son bought for me one Christmas, and plugged it into the car again to see if I could get it working (I struggled with it when I first tried it out and so gave up).
Success. It worked fine this time and the ipod didn't slide too much about the car whilst I was driving about!
I enjoyed singing along to some of my favourites and so thought I'd also stay plugged into my music today - all day. How thankful I am for music, for the musicians and writers that can sweep us away with their voices, words and melodies.
Here two of my (many) favourite artists for a sing-a-long this morning....
Music like literature and art are fabulous gifts to us. It was fun to see Elvis Costello in his obviously younger years. He is married to a jazz singer from Vancouver Island near me so I hear about him fairly often. The photos of Audrey Hepburn were nice. I especially liked to see the ones from one of my favourite movies of hers, Roman Holiday with Gregory Peck. Have a wonderful weekend.
ReplyDeleteI love music too and do not think that life would be the same without it... it kind of reminds me of the ABBA song Thank You For The Music, the songs I'm singing.... great song selection... I giggled when I read you took your radio with you... I would have probably done the same since I do not like driving long distances without the radio on... Rock on...
ReplyDeleteGlad you enjoyed listening and watching, joyful. Have a good weekend too. Lana yes thank you for the music indeed. I often feel that way. x
ReplyDeleteTwo artistes I've never got into. I enjoy a good sing on my daily commute. If I could work out how to embed music in my blog I'd share some!
