Remember this ......

At bottom every man knows well enough that he is a unique being, only once on this earth; and by no extraordinary chance will such a marvelously picturesque piece of diversity in unity as he is, ever be put together a second time.

August 2011

In the garden today I see the signs that we are now in mid-August.
Autumn is coming around once again.

Today I am remembering June, and before that a Spring that involved much heart searching, much gathering of strength, ready for so much growth.
The promise of so much joy.

Today I am remembering Summer.
Beautiful growth and glorious, joyful, flowering.

In a few short months how everything changes.

Today I am sitting with some sorrow for this summer's events.

Today I am sitting with some gratitude for natures gifts, wise mentors and many, many blessings.

  1. I noticed today that the trees round us are just starting to look a bit yellow around the edges. I'm trying to tell myself that it doesn't matter that the year is turning. But when summer didn't really ever start, it's hard to accept autumn's approach.

  2. Beautiful post and what awesome snapshots of that flower... what is it called? and Is it in your garden? I love spring and summer... and come to think of it Autumn and Winter as well... each season brings on something new and different than the previous season... nature is so beautiful... I am missing seasons here in Thailand... they have the rainy season and the dry season and that is it... we do not get cold winters and snow... the leaves on trees do not all turn orange yellow and red for the fall... still it is beautiful and having the sun shine most of the days of the year is also something to be grateful for.

  3. Great shots!

Ah, yes. The summer is going to sleep and Autumn is waking up. I love Autumn. I love flannel sheet and sweater weather. I love coming home to soups and stews in the crock-pot. I do get tied of the rain though and wish for the long days of summer.

  4. Hi Lana. I believe it is an Allium part of the onion family and yes it is in our garden thanks to Mr S.

Oh yes sunshine all year is much to be appreciated. As much as I love Autumn, winter and spring(like you AJ and Birdie), I often crave sunshine and suck it up when we are lucky enough to have some. Exactly AJ hard to accept when our summers are such a wash out. In some ways this year's summer has given us some glorious days though. Just you never know when it will turn like winter and can't fully relax into it!My brolly is always at the ready - and my woolies. ;)
