ICAD #10 - Late Summer Sunday Afternoon

Well, the afternoon sunshine is at this moment shining through my newly sparkled windows. The curtains are blowing on the washing line, looking very bright now that they are washed and clear of cat hair and muddy paw prints. The ground floor is hoovered and dusted.

Mr Stayingawake has been busy in the kitchen preparing dinner and washing an abundance of produce he brought back from the allotment this morning. Then he has tackled, and beaten the pile of ironing that was waiting for one of us to gather enough strength to do so.

The cats are stalking each other in the long grass.

All of my Index cards for this week are loaded up here and ready to go.

The tetchiness of this morning's mood has also been despatched; helped on it's way by steady activity about the house; a little creative time; some counting of blessings; a call from a friend and a good rant about the government; remembering that there is a Bank Holiday Monday next week; the counting off on the calendar of working weeks until my next break; rain holding off; and the letting go of resentment about it being Monday and work tomorrow; acknowledging and appreciating this moment.

  1. I thoroughly enjoyed this post, Jan. Seems you had many blessings today and a great spurt of creativity. I also immensely enjoyed the angelic voice of Israel. I'd never heard of him before. But what a gift. I happen to love that song and his rendition is so sweet.

Many of your drawings are wonderful... especially the last two and the dark one with that yellow color shining through...
