Right now it is just speaking to me about wanting to take the pain of someone you love very much. To swap places with them. As a parent we can feel this way about our children when they are sick, or troubled, or hurt; and this doesn't end when they grow up. However it could be a friend, a parent, a sibling. You would give anything wouldn't you? To be able to fix a terrible pain, to make it better for them?
For my mother, who still watches me grow, explore, write and dance through the ordinary life.

Sing-a-long-a-Saturday
This came to my attention again a few weeks ago, after not hearing it so often for many years! I am used to the Kate Bush version which was the original, and Kate wrote it too I believe. I read that she wrote it about how men and women were so different they could never understand each other, unless they swapped places for a time.

I don't think I've ever heard that song before. Thanks for sharing it.
ReplyDeleteIt's so hard to watch another go through hardship or suffering of any kind.
oh sunshine Jan... I am wondering and wondering what could lead you to feel that way... I hope that whatever is going on will soon heal and flutter away.
