What was your greatest creative accomplishment in 2011?
| ICAD Summer Challenge. June - August 2011 |
Being creative everyday during most of June, and all of July and August by taking part in the ICAD summer challenge, was my greatest creative accomplishment this year. I stuck at it even when I became busy with a new job....no masterpieces...but being creative everyday really helped bring me back to discovering what I enjoy.
It may be that after tomorrow evening I will have finished my first attempt at a Stained Glass panel .....and I'm pretty proud of accomplishing that too.....attending a class with strangers was hard, as was not throwing the blasted thing across the room when the glass wouldn't do what I wanted it to do. Funnily enough, though some weeks I dreaded going back to continue working on the piece, once I started work, I became fully engrossed and didn't want to leave it at the end of the session. Glass may not be my medium of choice again however.....or maybe it will.
I love glass but it scares me to work with it. I used to make enamel jewellery years ago and cut smallpieces to make specific shapes. I'm in awe of you creating a proper panel. You deserve to be proud of yourself.
ReplyDeleteextraordinary accomplishment! Brava.
ReplyDeleteWow Jan... love the card as now you have so much to look back to and see how much you have grown from it... imagine in ten years time you can go back to all of those and I bet a smile will form on your face... lovely!
ReplyDeletemy biggest accomplishment of 2011 was completing that challenge as well, because usually I will start something, and not complete it, but I stuck with it just like you and finished it. Thanks for the nice words on my blog
